Reporting places:  Munnar info meeting point (Old Munnar)

  • Pick up time                : 4:00 AM (optional jeep transfer available for small groups)
  • Trekking starting        : 05:30 AM from base camp.
  • Cost                              : 1,600 INR per person (Cash / UPI) • 1,700 INR via card
  • Tour Inclusions            : Guide, Entry fee, and light food.
  • Exclusions                    : Hotel pick-up and drop-off charge.
  • What to wear & keep : Normal hiking or walking shoes, long dress, and sun protector & If you are taking any medication, please carry your medicine with you.. (Need to book 24 hours before the travel date )

                 
Awake before dawn and set off on the magical Meesapulimala Sunrise Trek, where the sky slowly unravels its colors over Kerala’s highest ridges. Beginning in the early hours (around 4 AM at Munnar info Old Munnar), you’ll jeep-ride to the base camp and begin your ascent through mist-laden forests, Rhodo valleys, bubbling streams, and rugged trails. As you climb, the world transforms: shadows dissolve, birds begin their calls, and the horizon blazes gold. By sunrise, you’ll be at the summit (~2,600 m), rewarded with panoramic views of rolling hill ranges, waterfalls, and the soft glow of dawn across the Western Ghats. This trek is not just a hike—it’s a soul-stirring journey, ideal for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone longing to witness serenity at first light.

Trek Options & Highlights

You have two trail options:

  • Shorter Trail (~11 km) from KFDC base camp via Rhodo Valley — the popular choice
  • Longer Trail (~15 km) from Kurangini — more challenging, more remote

Both routes offer:

  • Rhodo valleys and evergreen forest stretches
  • Streams, rocky terrain, mist-clad slopes
  • Panoramic views of waterfalls (including the Kurinji Falls)
  • Option of jeep transfer for a portion (~4 km bump ride) if desired
     

What to Bring & Wear

  • Sturdy hiking or walking shoes
  • Warm clothing: layers, including a windbreaker or fleece
  • Sun protection: hat, sunscreen, sunglasses
  • A headlamp or flashlight for early start
  • Personal medication, if needed
  • Snacks (though light food is provided)
