One of the great moments of our trip: spectacular and 100% recommended. Access to the base camp is by jeep around 4 a.m. (travel time of just over an hour). After a short stop for tea, we started the walk. The first climb was demanding, especially for the early hour, but when we reached the first peak we could see the sunrise after Meesapulimala, surrounded by silence, incredible landscapes and mountain goats. From there we continue to the top, enjoying views of the highlands, the valley and even tiger tracks. The natural border between Tamil Nadu (clear) and Kerala (Covered in clouds and leafy green) was clearly visible. Our guide was impeccable: attentive, professional and even surprised us with a small snack at the summit. The return was made by another trail, which made the route circular, and at the end we were offered a typical breakfast with Puttu and homemade Kadala Curry, plus fresh fruit, prepared by a local lady. The jeep tour by day allowed us to enjoy the views of the valley. An unforgettable experience.
